Rita & Services – WTC Tchissanga Project

The Tchissanga Waste Treatment Centre (WTC) project is located approximately 160 kilometers northeast of Pointe-Noire, the Republic of Congo’s economic capital. The 16,597.33 m² project area is situated in Ntoupou village, Loango District, within Kouilou Department — a low-lying region in the country’s southwest.

The project was initiated in February 2021, with the first equipment delivered to the site in April 2022. However, installation remains pending due to the absence of a preservation plan, leaving functionality uncertain. Additionally, essential utilities such as electrical systems, potable water piping, and wastewater systems have been installed but are still awaiting validation tests to ensure operability.

Progesys was mandated to complete the missing elements and key engineering documents for the installation, commissioning, and start-up of Process 1 (waste treatment by incineration and recycling for recovery). The mandate also covered processes requiring a prefeasibility study to assess their technical and economic feasibility — including resource needs, potential challenges, and overall viability — namely: paraffin treatment, biological treatment of solid waste, and treatment of oil-based cuttings.

SERVICES OFFERED:

• Provided design support (engineering), planning, execution coordination, and management services for project execution.
• Supervised and managed Rita & Services’ third-party subcontractors for the field execution of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work scopes.
• Provided procurement support (supplier identification, delivery arrangement, and specification review).
• Planned, coordinated, and executed construction activities.
• Planned, coordinated, and executed pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for outstanding project equipment, newly constructed equipment, and process systems.
• Delivered reverse engineering services for mechanical, process, electrical, and instrumentation components of incineration systems, Including as-built documentation, component analysis, and system optimization.
• Provided operational readiness guidelines to support client start-up.
• Conducted prefeasibility studies for future processes to be implemented.
