Risk Assessment Project – PT Masmindo

DESCRIPTION

PT Masmindo Dwi Area (Masmindo) is a subsidiary of Nusantara (an Australian mining company) that has a full ownership of the Awak MAS Gold project which is a high-grade gold project. The project is located in Luwu Regency, of South Sulawesi, Indonesia approximately 40 kilometres from Belopa. The Project covers an area of 14,390 hectares in non-forestry land, requiring a period of three years for construction and afterwards a period of 30 years of operation.

At Masmindo request, Progesys has deployed one Project Management Specialist, one Risk Management Specialist and one Risk workshop facilitator, from Progesys Canada offices to lead and conduct Risk management workshops in Jakarta, Indonesia with participation of Awak MAS Gold project team members.

Following the Jakarta workshop, post-workshop activities were held by Masmindo risk team with the remote support of Progesys Risk specialists’ team. As such, the existing risk register has been updated.

SERVICES OFFERED

• Pre-Execution phase:
  • Produced a comprehensive project readiness audit including recommendations.
  • Audited the risk management process, identified risks and providing recommendations.
  • Conducted several workshops to review the existing risks and potential new risks during the development and construction phases.
  • Trained Masmindo team on best practices of risk management.
  • Realigned the risk management process to best practices by improving the risk matrix, tolerability, risks ownership, and completed review of risks

• Execution phase:
  • Reviewed the contractor performance.
  • Represented the client for dispute resolution.
  • Developed commissioning (Cx) Plan and commissioning support
  • Assessed operation readiness strategy.
  • Implemented preventive/predictive training regarding the process plant and NPI (Non-Process Infrastructure).
  • Prepared and executed the project audits.
